Swing Bed Program
Barnesville Hospital provides temporary and short-term rehabilitation, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Our highly trained physicians, therapists, and nurses work closely with our patients to help them regain strength and return to their daily routine.
Depending on the level of care that is needed, our rehabilitation swing bed program transitions patients seamlessly from acute care to skilled nursing status. Whether you are a patient at Barnesville Hospital or a patient out of the area, if you require skilled care you can utilize the swing beds at our facility.
We provide rehabilitation for a range of chronic conditions and medical needs, including:
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Congestive heart failure
- Extended IV therapy
- Fractures
- Orthopedic surgeries (such as hip or knee replacements)
- Pneumonia
- Post-surgical procedures
- Stroke and other neurological disorders
For patients who are ready to return home or transfer to another facility, our staff will work with you and your family to make the transition as smooth as possible and connect you with other community resources to help keep you well.
