Nuclear Medicine

The Nuclear Medicine Department at Jackson General Hospital is home to state-of-the-art imaging equipment comparable to any other facility in the region. Various tests are available, including a myocardial stress test that detects early presence of heart disease. Other scans that may be ordered by your provider include thyroid, cardiac (heart), lung, gallbladder, liver, renal (kidney), and bone imaging.

Nuclear imaging uses very small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose and sometimes treat disease. These tests provide accurate images and valuable information. Nuclear medicine is a safe, effective, and important tool in healthcare.

Nuclear Medicine appointments are available Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm.
