Meet Our Leadership Team
Thomas Mauger, MD
Thomas Mauger, MD, executive chair of the WVU Eye Institute, is an ophthalmologist who specializes in the treatment of patients with vision needs associated with the cornea, cataracts, lens implants, and cross-linking.
Dr. Mauger, who joined the WVU Eye Institute in 2018, also serves as professor and chair of the WVU School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. He’s also the School of Medicine’s associate dean for practice plan integration and the associate chief medical officer for ambulatory care for WVU Medicine.
Dr. Mauger, who is board certified in ophthalmology, earned his medical degree at The Ohio State University. He also completed an ophthalmology residency and Cornea Fellowship Program there. He completed an internship in ophthalmology at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
