Planned Giving

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a fund for the future. It provides the opportunity to plant seeds to advance the health and wellness of the community. Notably, Garrett Regional Medical Center is the result of a planned gift by George Loar, who through his will set out funds to build a hospital.

There are a variety of ways to achieve planned giving. Prospective or current donors have the opportunity to add the Garrett Regional Medical Center Foundation as an additional beneficiary through a variety of funding mechanisms.

Some of those funding mechanisms for planned giving include wills and bequests; gifts of appreciated stock and securities; gifts of retirement accounts; gifts of life insurance and/or charitable income gifts, such as charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder unitrusts, and charitable remainder annuity trusts. Additionally, gifts of real estate and personal property are other planned giving options.
