Chaplain
The Chaplaincy Services staff is available to assist you if you would like to:
- Speak with a Chaplain
- Receive the sacraments of your church
- Contact your own pastor
The chaplain can be reached by calling extension 1735 or 1732 or by notifying your nurse. The hospital chapel, located on the first floor, is available for private prayer and reflection.
ATM / Banking Machines
Automated banking machines (ATMs) are located between the lobby and United Pharmacy on the first floor.
UHC Gift Shop
The Auxiliary to United Hospital Center operates a gift shop located on the first floor, near the coffee shop and chapel. Proceeds contribute to funding for UHC services.
If you would like to make a purchase over the phone using your credit card, please call the Gift Shop at 681-342-1633 and we would be happy to accommodate your request. Please have the Patient Name and Room Number available to the Volunteer.

Grooming Services
Main Hospital:
Hair care services limited to washing and facial shaving are available for UHC patients. If you prefer, you may contact your own beautician/barber and arrange for them to come to the hospital.
United Trasitional Care Center (UTCC):
The hospital’s skilled nursing facility has a licensed beauty shop and beautician for UTCC patients who wish to take advantage of the service.
UHC Net / Wireless Internet Access
Enjoy the internet through our high-speed wireless network, available throughout the hospital. Service is free and can be accessed with most properly configured wireless devices. To access our wireless network you will need your own laptop, PDA or other wireless-enabled device.
Make sure the switch for your wireless device is switched to the ON position. In the lower right hand corner of the screen look for the wireless icon and double click on it.
Select the UHCNET and press CONNECT.
Open the browser of choice and you will be presented with a screen where you will click ACCESS THE INTERNET.
Read and accept the TERMS AND CONDITIONS of use and you will be directed to the UHC home page.
You are now ready to use the Internet. Note: terms and conditions will need to be accepted again every four hours.
Flowers & Flower Delivery
Flower arrangements, both live and silk, are available in the gift shop.
Flower deliveries are made directly to your room; however, in accordance with hospital policy, patients in Critical Care (located on level two) are not permitted to have live flower arrangements.
Waiting Areas
For the comfort and convenience of visitors, there is a designated lounge area on each floor. In addition, special waiting areas are available near the critical care unit on the second floor as well as surgery waiting area on the second floor.
Food
Patient Menus
All meals are prepared by UHC’s Food and Nutrition Services Department. A food service galley technician will visit you in the morning for your dinner selection and in the afternoon for the next day’s breakfast and lunch selections. The galley technician can assist you if you have questions. Trays for visitors are available upon request. (A fee is charged for this service.)
Coffee Shop
Starbucks is located off the main lobby. It is open 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is closed on holidays. The menu includes specialty coffee, cappuccino, espresso and pastries.
Garden View Cafe
The Garden View Cafe is located on the garden level. It is open seven days a week, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. to 4 a.m., and offers a varied menu.
Vending Machines
Snack and soda machines are located on the first floor in the vending/ATM area. The vending area is open 24-hours a day.
