ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the program, students must have successfully completed high school or college level courses with a grade of “C” better in chemistry, English, and algebra, prior to starting the program. Additionally, a minimum cumulative high school and college GPA of 2.5 is required. If an applicant’s GPA is below 2.5, they may submit an admission exemption form and supporting documentation for consideration. All high school and college transcripts are also required as part of the application. For a full list of all requirements and optional materials, please refer to the Application Checklist below.

The general studies courses required for program completion include anatomy and physiology, nutrition and psychology. These courses must be taken at a college or university of your choice and are not covered by the tuition waiver. While it is recommended to complete these classes before enrolling, they may also be taken concurrently with nursing courses. Please note that the CNE does not offer these required general studies courses. If you plan to take these courses, we recommend emailing a Course Transfer Request Form and syllabus to [email protected] for review to determine if it will be accepted as one of our required general studies or prerequisite courses.

We admit the most qualified students based on holistic admission criteria that include academic history, work experience, interviews, and other metrics for potential program success. Submission of one professional referral letter and test scores, such as ACT, SAT, and TEAS, are optional.

Additional Forms, Information and Policies

  • Admission Exemption Request Form – Some applicants, who do not meet minimum requirements, will be required to submit this form (review the Application Checklist above for full details). This form will be available in the application system. Applicants should list all items that do not meet the minimum requirements, include rationale for extenuating circumstances and the exemption request, provide supporting documentation, and outline a plan for success despite the circumstances. Completion of this form does not guarantee that the exemption request will be granted or that the applicant will be competitive./
