Nephrology services are offered at Garrett Regional Medical Center’s Wound Care Center. This partnership opens up greater access for treatment of kidney disease and other chronic kidney conditions for patients in our region. These outpatient services also reduce the amount of travel time for patients, who no longer have to travel great distances to seek treatment.
The West Virginia University Nephrology Section accepts referrals of patients who have a wide range of kidney-related problems, including:
- Acid-base disorders
- Acute and chronic kidney disease
- Cystic kidney diseases
- Diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease)
- Electrolyte disorders
- End stage kidney failure (dependent on dialysis)
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Kidney stones
- Non-diabetic kidney disease
