Located on the sixth floor of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, WVU Medicine Children’s includes a pediatric and adolescent ward with 28 beds (6 Southeast), a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with 19 beds, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 39 beds, and a suite of 29 labor-delivery-post-partum rooms for the mother and infant (Maternal Infant Care Center MICC). An activity room and teen-room facilitate the rehabilitation of our young patients (Child Life Program).
The WVU Medicine Children’s infusion center is located in the Physician Office Center, adjacent to Ruby Memorial, and consists of six treatment spaces. The staff at the infusion center provides outpatient care to many of the pediatric specialty services, especially hematology/oncology. Some of the most common services are chemotherapy, medication, blood product administration, and the collection of labs.
