Still struggling with CPAP? You might be a candidate for Inspire Therapy for Sleep Apnea.
Inspire works inside the body with a patient’s natural breathing process to treat sleep apnea. Mild stimulation opens the airway during sleep, allowing oxygen to flow naturally. The patient uses a small handheld remote to turn Inspire on before bed and off when waking up.
The Inspire system is implanted during a short, outpatient procedure. It is placed under the skin of the neck and chest through small incisions.
Inspire is covered by most insurance companies when the patient meets eligibility requirements.
Eligibility
Inspire Therapy is an option for people with obstructive sleep apnea who aren’t able to use or benefit from continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy and meet the following criteria:
- 18 years of age or older
- Have moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea
- BMI under 35
Patients must be referred by a medical provider and have a valid sleep study completed within the past 2 years to be eligible.
To find out if Inspire Therapy is an option for you, call 304-969-7334
