Chairs of Comfort-Infusion Treatment Chair Upgrade Project

At the WVU Cancer Institute, located on the WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center campus, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and comfort.
The WVU Hospitals East Foundation aims to upgrade all 21 infusion treatment chairs in the Infusion Center, where patients often spend hours undergoing life-saving treatments. To ensure every patient receives the highest level of comfort, we plan to provide top-of-the-line treatment chairs featuring heat and massage capabilities for a relaxing experience. Each enhanced infusion treatment chair costs $3,332. Contributions can be made in honor, memory, or celebration of a loved one. Donations that cover the full cost of a chair will have the opportunity to receive specific recognition within the Infusion Center, if desired.

Every donation makes a significant difference. Join us in making a meaningful impact. Contribute to the Chairs of Comfort fund today!

Cancer Comfort Fund

Support of the Cancer Comfort fund allows gifts to be directed towards specific areas of need where they can make an immediate impact for patients and their families. Funds go towards expenses such as transportation costs, food cards, medication costs and more to help ease some of the financial stress that can be involved with lenthy treatments and cancer diagnosis.

Your support will help ease the financial burden on cancer patients and allow them to focus on their health and healing journey.

The need is urgent and ongoing. Support with a one-time gift or recurring donation.

Giving Example
Becky was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2010 and immediately sought the knowledge and treatments available at the WVU Cancer Institute at Berkeley Medical Center. To ease the financial and emotional burden, Becky received financial assistance which helped cover the cost of transportation to and from treatments. This gave her and her family peace of mind, so she only had to focus on strength and healing. Becky has been cancer free since 2015.

Supporting the Greatest Need

The Greatest Need fund helps to ensure Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Center have the funding to continue to provide vital patient care and experiences as well as advance our community outreach with health and wellness programs, events and services for a better, stronger, healthier community.

Greatest Need funds major advances at both hospitals to ensure that our medical centers have the equipment and resources available for our physicians, staff and care-givers to continue to enhance and expand on the type of care services provided.

These funds provide the most flexibility so funds are allocated to services and programs that are most critical.

Giving Example
Mark wanted to make a gift to support his local community as he has a passion for health and wellness but he was unsure of what specifically to help contribute to. Instead Mark made a gift to the WVU Hospitals East Foundation to benefit “Greatest Need.” A gift to greatest need can help to fund scholarships for local students looking to enter the medical field, or WVU Medicine employees who are looking to further advance in their medical career, provide urgently needed equipment or provide financial assistant for a patient who does not have the financial means to pay for their medication on their own. Donors can be assured that their contributions are going to benefit the health of their community members.
