WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital Outpatient Therapy Services provides focused outpatient care for illness, injury or disability to improve patients’ quality of life and independence. Our highly trained, licensed Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists provide evaluation and treatment for a variety of conditions to meet the specific needs of our patients. We are committed to providing individualized, one-on-one care to ensure you maximize your functional therapy goals and outcomes.
We understand you have unique goals, and we are here to partner with you to help you achieve them. Therapy is generally sought out by patients after an injury, but we are also here to help you prevent future injuries and assist in your overall health and well-being.
Physical therapy
Physical Therapists will assist you to heal, regain strength and function, reduce pain, and get you back to the things you want and need to do.
Vestibular therapy
Vestibular Therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy designed to alleviate the symptoms associated with vestibular (inner ear) disorders. These disorders can cause dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, and issues with vision and coordination. Our dedicated vestibular physical therapist will provide education, exercises and adaptation techniques to manage your symptoms quickly and effectively.
Lymphedema therapy
Lymphedema therapy is a treatment designed to manage and reduce the swelling censused by lymphedema, a condition of excess lymph fluids that builds up in tissues generally in the arms and legs. Certified Lymphedema therapists will assist you to reduce and maintain your limb size after primary lymphedema onset.
Occupational therapy
Occupational Therapists will assist you with hand, wrist, arm, elbow pain and injuries as well as improve your ability to perform your daily life tasks and activities.
Speech-Language Pathology
Speech-language Pathologists will assist you to improve your language and cognitive function after injury or illness (stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease), cognitive rehabilitation after concussion, assess and improve swallowing function (dysphagia), assist with communication and voice disorders (aphasia, apraxia), and provide services for speech-sound and language delays in the pediatric population.
