We are excited to announce that the WVU Medicine Children’s Birthing Center operated by Uniontown Hospital will open in early 2025!

This new center will provide labor and delivery services for low-risk births and will feature state-of-the-art equipment and newly renovated labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, as well as a new c-section suite.

Features: When it opens, our Birthing Center will feature:

  • 5 labor, delivery, and recovery rooms
  • 11 postpartum rooms, all with private bathrooms and a sleeper sofa for the partner to rest
  • 1 dedicated C-section operating room that is newly renovated within the Birthing Center
  • Nurses trained in Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Fetal Monitoring, and the STABLE Program
  • 3-bed Level II NICU with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner coverage
  • 4-bay triage for outpatient services
  • Infant security system
  • “Rooming in” for mom and baby postpartum couplet care
  • Lactation consultation services
  • Car seat safety checks
