Carolyn E. and W. Gerald Blaney

The main lobby and gateway to medical services, constructed in 2009 as part of a large renovation and expansion project at the hospital, bears the name of Carolyn E. and the late W. Gerald Blaney, two regional philanthropists.

The Blaneys made personal donations and provided numerous gifts over the years, benefiting the education of hospital staff and significantly enhancing healthcare service delivery in Fayette County.

The Blaneys have long been ardent believers in the power of philanthropy and remain committed to the donation of time and service. Carolyn and her daughter Ruth Carter serve as active members of the hospital’s Volunteer Auxiliary. Carolyn also serves as president of the Eberly Foundation and served as a trustee for the Eberly Family Charitable Trust.

Elouise R. and Robert E. Eberly

Elouise and her late husband Robert E. Eberly are lauded as the single largest benefactors to WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital.

Together with the Eberly Family Foundation, the Eberly Family Charitable Trust, and personal donations, they have donated more than $5 million in support of the growth and development of Uniontown Hospital and its service line partners.

As a result of Elouise’s support of the hospital’s renovation and expansion project in 2009, the Elouise R. and Robert E. Eberly Community Room was established to provide a meeting space for staff and community education. Their generous support and dedicated and visionary leadership have provided Fayette County with comprehensive, state-of-the-art healthcare services.

Although a couple of great influences, the Eberlys always showed genuine humility and deep concern for the welfare of others. In fact, Elouise volunteered for and served as a board member for the Auxiliary for more than 50 years and served as an emeritus trustee for the hospital’s Board of Directors.
