Thomas Hospitals is pleased to welcome Dr. Albeir Mousa, a member of the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute. Well-known to the Kanawha Valley, Dr. Mousa is a highly skilled, board certified and fellowship trained vascular surgeon. Dr. Mousa’s medical expertise focuses on arteries and veins in almost every part of the body. From varicose veins to aortic aneurysms, Dr. Mousa has extensive experience to find and treat the cause of symptoms and help patients before silent threats become serious. He is skilled in performing a wide range of complex vascular and endovascular procedures to treat diseases and conditions that involve healthy blood circulation using state-of-the-art technologies available at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

A Society of Vascular Surgery Distinguished Fellow, Dr. Mousa has a bibliography including over 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts/book chapters and is a regular invited presenter on the treatment of vascular disease. A dedicated educator, Dr. Mousa has been the recipient of numerous awards for excellence, including the 2019 Vascular Center of Excellence Teacher of the Year and the West Virginia University Faculty of the Year.  Dr. Mousa holds two Masters Degrees in Public Health and Business Administration.

About Dr. Albeir Mousa

Albeir Mousa, MD,  joined the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute in October 2022 as Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Regional Director of Southern WVU Medicine. He also serves as a professor of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
