This year’s theme is “Social Work Breaks Barriers,” which highlights the many ways social workers enrich society by empowering people and communities to overcome hurdles.

There are more than 700,000 professional social workers in the United States, but the Bureau of Labor Statistics expects that number to increase to more than 800,000 by 2030, regarding it as one of the fastest growing professions in the nation.

Social workers touch millions of lives each day, and it is likely a social worker at some time will assist you or someone you know.

Those interested in joining the St. Joseph’s Hospital team of social workers can apply online at WVUMedicine.org/Careers/Buckhannon.
