During your scheduled appointment, you and your child will be seen in-person at our Pediatric Subspecialty & Telemedicine Clinic in Martinsburg. Your visit will be similar to a routine office visit. Our local team will take the patient’s standard medical information and establish a two-way video connection with a pediatric subspecialist from WVU Medicine Children’s in Morgantown. The pediatric subspecialist will lead the ​office ​visit virtually with physical support from an advanced practice provider in the room. Patients and caregivers can interact directly with the pediatric subspecialist and ask questions at any time just as they would during an in-person exam.

The pediatric subspecialist and their team may determine your child needs to be seen in person by the subspecialist. This visit may take place in Morgantown at WVU Medicine Children’s, or locally in Martinsburg.  Pediatric subspecialists from WVU Medicine Children’s in Morgantown offer outreach clinics in Martinsburg on a rotating basis to serve patients in the Eastern Panhandle. Any necessary testing or imaging will be performed locally if it is available. If a subspecialist determines additional testing is needed that is not available locally, your child may need to travel to WVU Medicine Children’s in Morgantown for testing.

The Telemedicine visits performed in the office are typically covered by insurance, however insurance coverage varies. Please contact your insurance carrier directly to verify coverage.

We have an on-site pediatric cardiologist who specializes in the treatment and management of heart conditions in children.
