Families will enjoy all the museum has to offer while participating in interactive activities that highlight WVU Medicine and WVU Medicine Children’s contributions to the Mid-Ohio Valley community.
“Guests will explore a one-of-a-kind, hand-on learning experience that is accessible to all while celebrating WVU Medicine Children’s and the incredible work taking place in partnership with Camden Clark Medical Center,” Wendy Shriver, executive director of Discovery World on Market, said.
In the past 12 months, kids from the Mid-Ohio Valley were treated nearly 6,000 times by Camden Clark pediatric providers and at WVU Medicine Children's Hospital in Morgantown.
Camden Clark recently opened a first-of-its-kind Pediatric Rapid Care Clinic at its new Southgate Medical Complex, which offers care for children by board-certified pediatricians caring seven days a week. In addition, WVU Medicine Children’s now offers a specialty telemedicine clinic in the Camden Clark Primary Care location near Grand Central Mall for patients and families who need follow-up appointments with their Morgantown provider.
“We are very fortunate to have a closely aligned partnership with WVU Medicine Children’s,” Sean Smith, president and CEO of Camden Clark, said. “As we continue to expand our pediatric services within the Mid-Ohio Valley, our patients will benefit from seamless transitions of care for pediatric subspecialty services. WVU Medicine Children’s offers a full complement of subspecialty support including pediatric heart, trauma, and orthopedic surgeons. This event will raise funds for purchasing additional specialized equipment that will allow WVU Medicine Children’s to continue to provide world-class, state-of-the-art healthcare.”
WVU Medicine Children’s is home to the state’s largest and most experienced group of pediatric primary care physicians and specialists. The continuing partnership with Camden Clark offers the Mid-Ohio Valley community dedicated care for kids close to home. Creating this continuity of care means children have access to specialists in nearly every condition, no matter how rare or advanced.
