WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital collecting data for Fayette, and Greene Community Health Needs Assessment
UNIONTOWN, Pa. – WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital is asking residents of Fayette and Greene counties to participate in the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
Conducted every three years, a CHNA identifies a community’s health priorities, gaps, and resources.
“The data is used to inform the Hospital’s development of programs, policies, and strategies to address the needs identified by community members,” Alyssa Pennington, Uniontown Hospital vice president of Market Development and Ambulatory Services, said. “Community participation in the survey is the best way to ensure a well-rounded and accurate picture of our current health status and needs.”
An area of need highlighted in the 2022 CHNA for Fayette County was access to preventive diabetic, mental health, and cancer screenings. The Hospital responded by investing in new technology for diabetic retinal exams, partnering with Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services to bring mental healthcare into the Connellsville primary care office, and increasing the overall number of lung and breast cancer screenings performed annually.
“We encourage all Fayette and Greene county residents to complete this year’s assessment and help us make informed decisions for a healthier community,” Pennington said.
