PCH Re-Accredited by DNV

Princeton, W.Va  — WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) announces the successful completion of its new re-accreditation process from DNV (Det Norske Veritas), an independent, global certification company headquartered in Norway.

DNV is one of the major accrediting bodies for hospitals in the United States. It is authorized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to conduct hospital accreditation surveys that ensure compliance with federal regulations. By earning DNV accreditation, PCH has demonstrated it meets or exceeds patient safety standards set forth by CMS.
“Earning DNV re-accreditation reaffirms our unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality care to our patients,” says PCH President and CEO Karen Bowling. “This accreditation reflects our dedication to continuous improvement, patient safety, and ensuring every person who walks through our doors receives the best possible care.”
DNV’s NIAHO® (Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) accreditation program involves annual hospital surveys – instead of every three years – and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.
DNV’s accreditation program is the only one to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, the trusted quality management system used by performance-driven organizations around the world.
