WVU Medicine Camden Clark's Annual Health & Wellness Day returns Saturday, July 12

Opportunities for low-cost lab work made available, Free EKG vouchers offered to first 100 participants, among other free onsite screenings and activities

The WVU Medicine Camden Clark Health & Wellness Day will return on Saturday, July 12 from 9 a.m. - noon at Camden Clark’s Health & Wellness Center on Birch Street. The annual event will highlight advancements in local healthcare services while helping families of all ages to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing. 

Representatives from more than 20 hospital service lines, specialty clinics and departments will participate in the event, which aims to provide education to area residents. Participating service lines will include Cardiovascular Services, General Surgery, Endocrinology, Radiology, Cancer Services, Podiatry, Women’s & Children’s Services, among others. 

Camden Clark’s Health & Wellness Day provides the opportunity for Mid-Ohio Valley residents to receive the best value on lab work. All proceeds from voucher purchases will benefit community outreach efforts within the area.

Labs will not be drawn onsite at the Health & Wellness Center; vouchers must be purchased during the event. Upon purchase, event participants will be given an authorization form which can be redeemed from July 14 – August 14 at any of Camden Clark’s lab locations throughout the community. Vouchers will be available for $43 and $50 for women and men, respectively, for a range of screenings including:   

Women:  

  • Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP) (Fasting)  

  • Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c, Diabetes)  

  • Lipid (Cholesterol) Panel  

  • TSH: Thyroid Stimulating Hormone  

Men:  

  • Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP) (Fasting)  

  • Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c, Diabetes)  

  • Lipid (Cholesterol) Panel  

  • Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) (Total)  

  • TSH: Thyroid Stimulating Hormone 

The first 100 Health & Wellness Day participants will be offered free EKG vouchers courtesy of WVU Heart & Vascular Institute’s Parkersburg Cardiology. All free EKG vouchers will be redeemed at Parkersburg Cardiology located at 1013 Garfield Avenue following Health & Wellness Day.  

In addition, several free health screenings will be offered during the event including blood pressure readings, blood glucose finger stick tests, DermaScan skin cancer screenings and DEXA bone density scans. Other event offerings for families will include ambulance tours, a Teddy Bear Clinic, a Temple Challenge group class opportunity and more.
