Acupuncture

WVU Medicine Family Medicine offers medical acupuncture performed by a specially-trained family medicine physician. Acupuncture involves the placement of tiny, metal needles through the skin in specific places on the body to provide pain relief and other health benefits.

Our acupuncture providers use their medical expertise, along with this holistic procedure, to design a treatment plan that is tailored for your individual needs. This integrated approach provides you with a safe and effective acupuncture experience.

Our physicians can also provide you with any necessary referrals if another treatment method, like physical therapy, would work best for your condition.
