COPD/Asthma
WVU Medicine Family Medicine offers dedicated care for patients who are affected by lung diseases, including emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and asthma – known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). All in one outpatient visit, you’ll receive a consultation with a primary care physician, a pharmacist, a dietitian/smoking cessation counselor, and respiratory therapist.
Treatments and Services
Some of our evaluation and treatment methods at the COPD/asthma clinic include:
- Assessment of COPD symptoms
- Breathing tests, including in-office spirometry
- Medication review and counseling by a pharmacist
- Nicotine dependence survey
Our primary care COPD/asthma team works effectively to care for all aspects of your lung condition, and we are here to help you breathe easier. If you require specialty care, we can provide you with a referral to a WVU Medicine pulmonary medicine physician.
