The Wheeling Hospital Center for Wound Care provides care to those suffering from chronic wounds outpatient wound care using the latest techniques and procedures to provide the best chance of healing.

We’re dedicated to healing chronic wounds, preventing lower limb loss, and improving outcomes for our patients. If you or a loved one has a wound that is not healing properly, you may have what is referred to as a complex or non-healing wound. Underlying conditions, such as diabetes, circulation problems, or previous radiation treatment, can turn a simple wound into a significant problem when the body’s normal healing process is affected.

A Wheeling Hospital wound management specialist will perform a general health assessment to develop an individualized treatment plan and coordinate your care with the appropriate services and medical specialties. We will work with your primary care physician and make communication about your progress and treatment a top priority.

Our team of board-certified specialists includes expertise from family medicine, vascular care, infectious diseases, general and plastic surgery, and podiatry. We work together to provide you with the very best wound care, and our advanced techniques include application of skin substitutes to cover defects, total contact casting to take weight off of the foot in patients with diabetic foot ulcers, and the removal of dead or infected tissue to improve the healing ability of remaining healthy tissue.
