Occupational Therapy is concerned with the rehabilitation of patients back into their living environment or workplace. We assist all age groups, from children with disabilities who learn to participate more fully in the classroom, to adults with injuries who regain job skills. We also work closely with older adults who are experiencing physical or cognitive challenges.

No matter the patient’s age, the goal of occupational therapy is to help them regain independence in their everyday activities.

Consider Occupational Therapy if you are having difficulty with any of the following:

  • Daily self-care (bathing and dressing)
  • Functional mobility (walking with or without a cane or walker in or outside the home; getting into or out of a shower, tub, or automobile)
  • Home management (vacuuming, cooking, laundry, general cleaning, yard work, and home maintenance)
  • Pain management (decreased or minimized use of upper or lower body due to arthritis, injury, falls, or surgery)
  • Other mobility difficulty caused by illness, disease, injury, or birth defects

The occupational therapists at Princeton Community Hospital can help you gain the skills you want and need in order to function more independently and to achieve the highest quality of life possible.

Our highly skilled therapists see each person as an individual with specific needs and desires for a better quality of life. They will work closely with you and your physician to conduct a comprehensive assessment and establish a treatment plan with goals that are meaningful and attainable.
