Breath Easier, Live Better.

If you suffer from chronic lung disease, you know how the illness affects your breathing … and your life.

If you’d like to feel better and do more, PCH’s Pulmonary Rehab Services may be right for you.

Our services are available to anyone with a respiratory illness, such as chronic bronchitis, asthma, emphysema, black lung, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We can help you breathe easier and live a more complete life.

The Pulmonary Rehab Department brings together the expertise of physicians, respiratory care practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, licensed clinical social workers, and nutritionists who work under the direction of a board-certified pulmonologist. These professionals conduct a comprehensive assessment to develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Patients attend a course of treatment lasting three to four hours, two or three times a week for about 10 weeks. The treatment combines exercise conditioning, endurance training, rehabilitation, education, and encouragement to improve your overall health and well-being.

Together, we will:

  • Evaluate your health status and develop a preventive self-care regimen
  • Help you carry out the activities of daily living as fully as possible
  • Help you function more independently and improve your quality of life
  • Improve your understanding of lung disease
  • Work with your physician’s treatment to control your symptoms as much as possible

Smoking Cessation Program

PCH’s Pulmonary Rehab Services also includes a Smoking Cessation Program designed to help you quit smoking. For information on the program, please call 304-487-7512.
