WVU Medicine welcomes orthopedic surgeon

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center and University Healthcare Physicians announce the addition of Dwight Kemp, D.O., board certified orthopedic surgeon, to WVU Medicine Orthopedics at Spring Mills.

Dr. Kemp is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan and a partial fellowship in adult reconstruction at Thomas Jefferson University’s Rothman Institute in Philadelphia.

For the past 25 years, Kemp has been in private practice including 18 years in Virginia with Bone & Joint Specialists of Winchester and at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray. He most recently worked in Martinsburg at the Center for Orthopedic Excellence.

Kemp’s special interests include sports injuries, shoulder joint replacement, hip and knee replacement and general orthopedic surgery. “Over the years I have added several arthroscopic procedures such as shoulder rotator cuff and labrum repairs, and anterior total hip replacement,” he said.
