Administrative professionals are key to ensuring that an organization runs efficiently by performing a variety of duties, including office management, clerical work, data entry, and record maintenance. In the hospital setting, they are also tasked with understanding the ever-changing world of healthcare and being well versed in medical terminology.

National Administrative Professionals Day was first observed in 1942, when the National Secretaries Association was formed to recognize the contributions of administrative personnel to the economy.
