WVU Medicine Camden Clark announces more than $10,000 in scholarship opportunities for students in healthcare

WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center is offering scholarship opportunities for college students in a healthcare field and nursing students through the Camden Clark Auxiliary and the Camden Clark Foundation.

The Auxiliary of Camden Clark Medical Center is sponsoring (3) $2,500 Leo D. Carsner Memorial Scholarships to area students obtaining a degree in a healthcare field. Applications are available in the Volunteer Service Department located on the third floor, at the Information desk in the main lobby of the hospital or on the website at camdenclark.org. All applications must be completed and returned by March 15, 2019.

To be eligible, students must live in the area serviced by Camden Clark Medical Center, which includes 11 counties in West Virginia and Ohio; and must have completed one year of college at an accredited school or be in the final weeks of their first year. Applicants will be judged on their scholastic ability, leadership attributes, potential contribution to the health care field, and financial need. Applicants must provide their official transcript of grades, three letters of recommendation from instructors, supervisors or employers, and a personal essay to explain their career goals, knowledge and experience in their career field.

The auxiliary scholarship is paid directly to the school. Funding for the scholarships was made available by a variety of auxiliary projects. Winners will be announced by April 1, 2019 and scholarships will be presented at the annual volunteer luncheon on April 12, 2019. Send completed applications to: CCMC Volunteer Services, 800 Garfield Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101
