Over 50? Join OLLI at WVU on Sept. 5

 

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at WVU is kicking off the upcoming term by inviting people over 50 to attend its fall reception on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Mountaineer Mall on Greenbag Road.
 
Stop by to enjoy light refreshments, socialize with friends, renew your OLLI membership, and register for the next term of classes. Several faculty members will be available to discuss their upcoming classes.
 
OLLI’s fall term begins Monday, Sept. 24 and classes will run through Friday, Nov. 2. Membership applications, course catalogs, and other promotional materials will be available.
 
Preceding the reception, the Sixth Annual Aging Lecture “That’s What Friends Are For” will be presented by Dr. Rosemary Blieszner from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Classroom B from 1 to 2 p.m.
 
Founded in 1993, OLLI is a membership organization open to anyone age 50 or older regardless of educational background. The goal is to provide intellectually stimulating classes and peer discussions along with an opportunity for social and recreational activities, such as field trips to environmental and historic sites and for appreciation and study of the arts.
