WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital sponsors Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. – WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital was the premier sponsor for the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner held on March 16 and in-person for the first time since 2020.

Lisa Wharton, president of the chamber and vice president of marketing at St. Joseph’s Hospital, welcomed the crowd of more than 300 people.

Sister Francesca Lowis, vice president of mission integration at St. Joseph’s, provided the invocation and was followed by remarks from Skip Gjolberg, president and CEO of St. Joseph’s.

The presented awards and respective winners were:

  • Businesswoman of the Year – Katie Kuba, editor, MyBuckhannon
  • Businessman of the Year – Randy Sanders, city recorder, City of Buckhannon
  • Citizen of the Year – Joey Baxa, captain, Buckhannon Fire Department
  • Organization of the Year – Buckhannon Community Theatre
  • Business of the Year – Bobby Gompers, Highland Landscaping
