WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital recognizes Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. – WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital is recognizing Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, observed annually in March.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers in both men and women and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States.

Preventive colorectal cancer screenings are important because early stages of the disease may not be accompanied by symptoms. These tests can identify precancerous polyps and lead to early treatment and are recommended for adults aged 45 and older.

Talk to your primary care provider today about getting screened and visit https://cancer.wvumedicine.org/patients-visitors/cancers-we-treat/colon-and-rectal-cancer  for more information on colorectal cancer treatment at the WVU Cancer Institute.
