WVU Medicine St. Joseph's Hospital celebrates Chaplain Barry Moll and Sister Francesca Lowis during Spiritual Care Week.

This nationally recognized week provides the opportunity to honor our spiritual caregivers and all they do for our patients and the community.

Sister Francesca Lowis, vice president of Mission Integration, and Chaplain Barry Moll ensure that the mission of providing our community with quality healthcare in ways which respect the God-given dignity of each person, and the sacredness of human life is fulfilled by meeting with patients who request spiritual care and providing a weekly, non-denominational prayer service in the hospital’s chapel.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Relevant and Responsive in Times of Crisis” and highlights the role spiritual caregivers had during the COVID-19 pandemic.
