WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrates National Nurses’ and Hospital weeks

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. – WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital celebrated National Nurses’ Week May 8-14 and Hospital Week May 7-13 with a variety of activities and events honoring staff.

Robert Neal Skinner, III, mayor of Buckhannon, signed a proclamation declaring May 6-13, 2023, as National Nurses’ and National Hospital Week in Buckhannon and encouraged residents to express their appreciation for WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital’s commitment to keeping the community healthy.

Staff activities and treats coincided with daily themes, including Outer Space Monday, Beach Day Tuesday, Wild West Wednesday, Taco Thursday, and Blue Jean Friday.

“I am so proud of how well our staff weathered the pandemic and took such excellent care of patients,” Skip Gjolberg, president and CEO of WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital, said. “Now that we are putting that behind us, we can continue to grow and expand St. Joseph’s services to our community.”
