WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center Residents Go Back to School

Classroom health and wellness education program to be featured in Wood County Schools April 13 and 20

WVU Medicine Camden Clark kicked off its Residents in Schools program on Thursday, April 13 with Medical and Pharmacy residents visiting local K – 12 schools including Greenmont Elementary, Jackson Middle School and Parkersburg South High School. During their visits, CCMC residents discussed various, age-appropriate topics with students related to health, wellness and careers in healthcare.

The partnership amongst Camden Clark and the Wood County Board of Education is led by Michael Cheshire, DO, FACOI, FACP. The topics covered during the classroom sessions range from healthy lifestyle habits, hygiene, proper handwashing to prevent the spread of germs, health risks associated with vaping, among others. The program curriculum also highlights information related to future careers in healthcare.

The Residents in Schools programming will be concluded on Thursday, April 20 with residents scheduled to visit Emerson, Kanawha, Lubeck and Mineral Wells Elementary Schools, along with Hamilton Middle School.
