WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center’s 2019 Health and Wellness Day will be open to all residents of the Mid-Ohio Valley this Saturday August 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More than 75 exhibitors are expected to participate in this year’s community-wide event dedicated to educating and informing area residents of innovations and enhancements being made at the hospital as well as to improving and maintaining health and wellness for families of all ages.
Numerous free health screenings will offered Saturday including EKG’s, bone density scans, blood pressure readings, in addition to an opportunity to receive vouchers for low-cost lab screenings. Attendees will receive a voucher and gift once they visit at least 16 exhibitor tables. The lab vouchers can be utilized that day at two area locations or be used through August at any of the hospital’s five diagnostic locations.
Representatives from hospital services and departments such as Primary Care, Pharmacy, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Radiology, Pulmonology and Oncology are just a few of the many departments participating. Outside exhibitors such as Parkersburg Cardiology Associates, WVU at Parkersburg, Highmark, United Way, MOV Health Department, Rehabilitation Therapy Services, Audiologists, and health and wellness companies from across the Mid-Ohio Valley will also be participating.
A variety of demonstrations will take place during the Health and Wellness Day at Center Court Stage of the Mall, including:
10:30am Forever Young
Energetic men and women performing continuous cognitive and balance exercises to help stay young, improve balance, and maintain mobility which can help you stay independent.
11:00am Temple Challenge
Temple Challenge, founded by Parkersburg native and exercise enthusiast Stacy Houser is a unique fitness program designed to meet the needs of any individual. From young to old, those who have never exercised to those who want to get back in shape or train for an event, this program is for you.
11:30am Jump Company USA
Promoting the sport of jump rope in order to inspire, educate and motivate people of all ages through competitions, workshops and performances.
12:00pm Cooking Demonstration and free samples
12:30pm Gymniks Gymnastics
Different levels of our competition team doing gymnastics dances with various tricks to music.
1:00pm AED/CPR
This demonstration will show adult and infant lay rescuer CPR as well as how to use the AED
1:30pm H&M Back to School Fashion Show
In addition, outside the Mall’s Food Court entrance there will be food trucks and the baby/child seat fitting station for families to visit and ensure they have properly installed their safety equipment as well as Ambulance and EMS displays.
Attendees will also benefit from extra discounts during the traditional back to school shopping season provided by the Grand Central Mall and their merchants.
