BUCKHANNON, WV - St. Joseph’s Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr. LaWanna Starks, a pediatrician who offers comprehensive healthcare for children from birth to age 18.
Dr. Starks will provide newborn and follow up care, well child visits, immunizations, care for acute and chronic illnesses, and general and sports physicals.
Starks earned a bachelor of science in nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and practiced as a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care units at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA.
She received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas, then the University of Minnesota Medical School. She completed a pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota, working at St. Paul Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis Children’s Hospital, and Hennepin County Trauma Center.
She most recently worked in private practice in Charlotte, NC.
She is board certified in pediatrics and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
