St. Joseph's Hospital's Walk with a Doc program moves to Buckhannon Riverwalk

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. -- St. Joseph’s Hospital’s “Walk with a Doc” program, which is held at 7 p.m. every other Monday, is moving to the Buckhannon Riverwalk.

The program encourages residents to take a step toward better health by joining in the walk at noon. Led by a St. Joseph’s Hospital provider, the walk will begin with a brief health-related discussion followed by a 20-minute walk. Participants are asked to meet near the restrooms located in the park. The walk is free and open to the public.

Upcoming walks are:

  • July 16:  “Adult Health Maintenance,” led by Danielle Seitz, N.P.-C., who will be discussing how to keep healthy. She will talk about vaccines, check-ups, routine labs, and other health issues for adults.
  • July 30: “Overview of Services at St. Joseph’s Hospital” led by Dr. Joseph Reed, who will discuss the various health services available at your local hospital.

Walk with a Doc is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.
