BUCKHANNON -- St. Joseph’s Hospital’s “Walk with a Doc” program is continuing at the Buckhannon Riverwalk. It is held at 7 p.m. every other Monday. The program encourages residents to take a step toward better health by joining in the walk.
Led by a St. Joseph’s Hospital provider, the walk will begin with a brief health-related discussion followed by a 20-minute walk. Participants are asked to meet near the restrooms located in the park. The walk is free and open to the public.
The next walk, "The Need for Colonoscopies," will be held on Aug. 13 and will be led by Dr. Steve Riddick, general surgeon, and Kayla Johns, P.A.-C. They will be discussing the benefits of having a colonoscopy.
Walk with a Doc is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and well-being of the country.
