St. Joseph's Hospital holds graduation ceremonies for West Virginia Junior Nursing Academy

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- St. Joseph's Hospital held graduation ceremonies on June 14 and 21 for the students enrolled in the West Virginia Junior Nursing Academy.

June 14th graduating class
Participants in the June 14 graduating class included (front row, left to right) Maria Gjolberg, Graci Ketterman, Reese Hutson, Lily Heater, Gage Raschella, (second row, left to right) Hannah Stevenson, Olivia Blondeau, Max Blondeau, Jessica Kittle, Hannah Gjolberg, and Libby Stingo.

These students from the seventh and eighth grades joined professional nurses for four days to get a firsthand, behind-the-scenes look at the multi-faceted world of nursing. They rotated through different areas of St. Joseph’s Hospital shadowing nurses in various departments. They also received CPR training and basic first aid skills and learned about physical therapy and respiratory therapy.
