St. Joseph's Hospital donates to Carry-On Campaign

BUCKHANNON, W.VA. -- The staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital donated more than 75 backpacks for children in the Carry-On Campaign, which provides backpacks with needed items, such as shampoo, deodorant, brushes, blankets, coloring books, and crayons, to children in the foster care system.  

Back pack donationThe goal of the campaign is to eliminate garbage bags as an acceptable form of luggage for children being removed from their homes.

There are currently more than 6,000 children in foster care in West Virginia, resulting in a continual need for these items.

The staff plans to host another drive for the children in 2019.
