Healthy Berkeley announces 5k, fun run

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Want to participate in a healthy activity and get chocolate as a reward? Healthy Berkeley will be hosting the Truffle Shuffle 5k and Kids Fun Run on April 27 to kick off the Chocolate Fest in downtown Martinsburg.

Participants are welcome to walk or run the 5k. Children 13 and younger are free for the 5k, and the Kids Fun Run is free to all children 12 and under. Families are encouraged to participate together. Proceeds from the Truffle Shuffle will go toward physical activity grants for area schools.

All 5k finishers will receive a truffle from DeFluri’s Chocolates. Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers, as well as the top 3 male and female winners in the 10 year age group. All participants who pre-register for the 5k before April 12 will be guaranteed a t-shirt. T-shirts are not guaranteed for anyone registering after that date.

For those who have pre-registered, packet pick-up will be available on April 26 at The Wellness Center from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Packet pick-up will also be available on race day. Race day packet pick-up and registration begins at 7 a.m. The 5k will start at 8 a.m. and the Kids Fun Run will follow the 5k at approximately 9 a.m.
