General surgeon Dr. Matthew Metz joins WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital

GLEN DALE, W.Va. – Today (Dec. 17), WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital welcomes Matthew Metz, M.D., to its growing general surgery practice.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Metz is experienced in all aspects of general surgical care. Metz specializes in a wide range of abdominal and vascular procedures, including aortic aneurysm repair, carotid artery treatment, appendix and gallbladder removal, colonoscopy, diverticulosis treatment, gastrointestinal surgery, and much more.

“I’m honored to return to West Virginia and join the exceptional staff at Reynolds Memorial Hospital,” Metz said.

Metz comes to Reynolds Memorial from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He received his medical degree from West Virginia University in 1998, after graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 1994. Metz is also a 1990 graduate of the Linsly School in Wheeling.
