Discovery World on Market, WVU Medicine Camden Clark announce partnership on Kaleidoscope exhibit to benefit children and their families

Discovery World on Market is excited to announce that WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center is partnering to support the Kaleidoscope exhibit in their Design Studio with their pledge of sixty thousand dollars.

The Kaleidoscope exhibit allows visitors to use a set of translucent, 2D geometric shapes to create a design on a lightbox surface. Overhead video cameras capture the designs in real time and morph them into large, kaleidoscope-like animated patterns that are projected onto the wall in front of the exhibit. With the support of WVU Medicine, the exhibit can be adapted to provide animated patterns of the anatomy furthering health and science learning opportunities at the center.

A check presentation was held this week with leadership from Camden Clark, Discovery World on Market and area children that will benefit from their contribution.

“We are proud to support Discovery World on Market,” says Steve Altmiller, WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center CEO. “This development aligns well with our commitment to support and grow the communities served by WVU Medicine with meaningful and enriching health literacy and career opportunities. These interactive exhibits will deliver much needed hands-on STEM education to our future leaders.”

“We are honored that WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center believes in this project and is stepping up in a big way to support the Kaleidoscope exhibit in Discovery World on Market,” says Wendy Shriver, executive director. “Their commitment to serving the mid-Ohio Valley and supporting the children in our community is appreciated,” says Shriver.

Discovery World on Market is scheduled to open late fall with a grand opening celebration for the community.
