Excellence in Every Step of the Journey

At WVU Hospitals East, quality and patient safety aren’t just priorities — they are part of who we are. Every member of our team is committed to delivering care that is safe, evidence-based, and centered around our patients.

We don’t consider these efforts “innovations” for their own sake. We follow science-backed, proven standards that drive real results. Evidence-based care is our standard of care.

Built on a Foundation of Science and Teamwork

Our strong culture of collaboration and accountability ensures we’re always advancing the way we care for our community. From the bedside to the boardroom, we work together to prevent harm, improve outcomes, and earn our patients’ trust.

Key Initiatives Driving Quality Care

  • Daily Safety Huddles – Proactive discussions each day to surface and address potential safety concerns.
  • Leadership & Patient Safety Rounds – Real-time engagement across all levels of care to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Infection Prevention & Control – Data-driven protocols that reduce risk and promote a clean, healing environment.
  • Staff Education & Simulation Training – Hands-on learning for high-risk situations to ensure confidence and consistency.
  • Medication Safety Protocols – Systems that reduce errors and support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Culture of Safety Programs – Empowering all team members to speak up and take action when they see a concern.

Quality You Can Measure

Thanks to our dedicated teams, we’re achieving meaningful, measurable results that directly benefit our patients:
