WVU Medicine offers several tuition and student loan repayment programs to its employees. A work commitment of two years is required by the employee for any tuition program. Here are some details about each program:
Dependent Tuition Assistance Program
To assist employees and their dependent children, WVU Medicine provides dependent tuition assistance for full-time employees with three or more years of service. The program provides an enhanced benefit of up to 100 percent of university tuition for those dependents who attend West Virginia University at the Keyser, Beckley, or Morgantown campuses or WVU online.
Dependents of full-time employees with three or more years of service who attend any other university or college will receive up to $1,500 of tuition reimbursement.
Dependents of part-time employees with three or more years of service will receive 50 percent of either of the above eligible amounts.
Employee Tuition Assistance Program
As a way to support our employees’ educational needs, full-time employees with at least one year of service (but less than five) will receive up to $3,000 of tuition reimbursement.
Full-time employees with five or more years of service who attend West Virginia University at the Keyser, Beckley, or Morgantown campuses or WVU online will receive up to 100 percent of university tuition reimbursement.
Employees enrolled in a nursing program (BSN, ADN, ASN, AAS) are eligible for up to $3,000 of tuition reimbursement after 90 days of employment at any accredited college or university.
Part-time employees receive 50 percent of the above eligible amounts.
Student Loan Assistance Program
To help our employees pay off student loan debt sooner, full-time employees with 90 days of service are eligible for the Student Loan Assistance Program. Under this program, eligible employees will continue to pay their monthly loan payment and will receive an additional payment of $100 per month that will go toward their monthly loan balance, helping to pay off their loan sooner. Some employee groups may not be eligible for this program.
In addition, an enhanced program is available for direct-care hospital-based nurses to receive up to $437.50 to cover the minimum required loan payment.
