David Hess, MD, was appointed CEO of Reynolds Memorial Hospital on Dec. 11, 2014. Hess, a local internal medicine and pediatric physician, has worked at the hospital since 2002. Originally from Lumberport, West Virginia, Dr. Hess attended the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Hess’ primary focus is putting the patients first. “We have to put the patients first. We will treat them with courtesy, respect, and be responsive to their needs,” Hess said.
Hess has several goals to enhance the patient experience. The hospital will be modernized, and marketing efforts will be focused to social media and digital advertising. A five-year capital campaign will raise funds to renovate the emergency department and the cath lab. Shortness of breath and weight loss clinics are scheduled to open in March 2015.
