CEO with a stethoscope: A message from David Hess, MD

The end of the year is always time for reflection. As I look back over my first year as CEO at Reynolds, I am filled with pride at the accomplishments our staff and employees have worked hard to achieve this past year.

We started one of the busiest cardiovascular offices in the Reynolds Memorial Hospital Center for Cardiovascular Care. We have managed to recruit multiple new doctors this year.

We were honored to be named as the third best hospital in the state in hospital-acquired conditions and were rated the safest hospital in Marshall, Ohio, and Belmont Counties by the Consumer Reports website.

Two new wildly successful programs, Reynolds Rapid Care and Breakthru Medical Withdrawal Management Program, have had almost 100 percent positive feedback from the patients who have been cared for in the programs.

We received the Press Ganey “Commitment to Excellence Award” for our improvement in patient satisfaction scores.

We also jumped 1,600 hospitals for our value-based purchasing scores from Medicare.

We have accomplished much but have so much more to do! We are driven to create a hospital system that provides top quality care right in our hometown, and we won’t stop until we have achieved this.

So, just as I am thankful for all those in my work family, I would ask that you continue to be reflective on how blessed you truly are this Christmas.

Sincerely,

David Hess, M.D.

CEO, Reynolds Memorial Hospital
