The WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital Outpatient Diagnostic Center allows you to access some of the most common outpatient services at one convenient location, with hours that fit into your busy schedule.
The Diagnostic Imaging Department and Outpatient Diagnostic Center are staffed by specialists in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT), ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, and diagnostic radiology.
Our department offers a variety of services necessary to assist physicians in making prompt and accurate diagnoses.
Services include:
- Computerized tomography (CT)
- DEXA (dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry) scans
- Digital mammography
- General diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Nuclear medicine
- Ultrasound
The Outpatient Diagnostic Center also offers a full line of diagnostic services, including:
- DEXA – Bone density (appointment required)
- Digital mammography (appointment required)
- General x-ray (no appointment required)
- MRI – High field 1.5 Tesla (appointment required)
- Ultrasound (appointment required)
All technologists are registered and have specific certification in their areas of expertise. The department also maintains two registered nurses and 13 clerical and support staff.
In the last reported fiscal year, the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Uniontown Hospital completed approximately 124,000 procedures. In each case, Foundation Radiology Group (FRG) provides an interpretation of exams by subspecialty-trained radiologists.
The FRG radiologist team offers expertise in every subspecialty, including:
- Cardiac CT
- Interventional radiology
- Mammography
- Musculoskeletal (MSK)
- Neurology
- Pediatric
- Positron emission tomography (PET)/computerized tomography (CT)
FRG is ranked one of the top radiology groups in the U.S. and is the first multi-institutional radiology practice to receive Joint Commission accreditation.

The role of the laboratory is to assist our physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Our laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers an exhaustive test menu.
WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital laboratories comply with the standards of all accrediting agencies, such as the College of American Pathologists, Pennsylvania Department of Health, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of 1988, The Joint Commission, and Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB).
