The WVU Medicine Spine Center provides comprehensive spinal care for our patients using a multidisciplinary team approach. Our team combines the expertise of WVU neurologists, orthopaedic specialists, neurosurgeons, pain management physicians, and rehabilitation services to target and provide each patient with the optimal treatment.
We have implemented a state-of-the-art software program designed to get patients the treatment they need quickly and efficiently. WVU is the first academic medical center to implement this approach to spine care.
The Cordata program includes a pre-review of a patient’s medical condition and diagnostics by a spine specialist, then prioritizes patients as appropriate for the initiation of care – usually within seven days of a referral.
Our patients are matched with the appropriate physician for their condition – surgical versus non-surgical. The system saves patients time and ensures patient care is coordinated seamlessly across multiple departments.
The main goal of the Spine Center is to start the patient’s treatment plan quickly so he or she can get on the road to recovery as soon as possible. As part of this process, we now accept self-referrals. Please call (855) WVU-CARE to make an appointment to have your case reviewed by a spine specialist.
If additional testing or treatment is suggested before an appointment is scheduled, we will work with your primary care provider to institute a treatment plan.
