Geriatrics

Aging can sometimes bring on increased potential for illness and multiple health issues. With our team approach to senior health, we will work with you and your family members or caregivers to help prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases and possible disability that may occur with aging.

At our 65-Plus Clinic for seniors, we will assess your health and make efforts to maintain your independence and wellness, and also consider the needs of any family members or caregivers in your life.

Your first appointment with a WVU Medicine geriatrics provider may take longer than an hour so that we can perform a specialized geriatrics consultation. We’ll discuss your medical history and your family’s medical history and any current health conditions or challenges. It is beneficial for a family member or caregiver to attend your appointment. Bring a list of all medications, including herbal and over-the-counter medications, to your appointment.

Conditions We Treat

Our caring team is comprised of board-certified geriatricians who are committed to providing high-quality care for a variety of conditions that affect adults age 65 and up. • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Dementia
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Heart disease
  • Osteoporosis
